Mr. James Curtis Stoker, age 88, of Menlo, GA, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017, at his residence.
Mr. Stoker was born Jan. 26, 1929, in Cloudland, GA, the son of the late George and Annie Moses Stoker. He was retired from Riegel Textile and was a member of the Riegel Quarter Century Club. He was a veteran of the Korean War where he received the Purple Heart and many other medals. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Claude Stoker and an infant brother who died at birth.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Monnie J. Stoker; daughters and son-in-law, Joyce White, Vicki and Randy Bagley; sister, Thelma Lowery; grandchildren, Suzanne Willis, Michael and Betty White, Clifton and Maghan Bagley; great-grandchildren, Joshua White, Layla Sims, Peyton Bagley, Tony Floyd, and Jordan Floyd.
Funeral services for Mr. Stoker will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 1, 2017, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Patterson and Rev. Tom Russell officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Randy Stoker, Sammy Lee, Michael White, Clifton Bagley, Leonard Robinson, Jerry “Homebrew” Deering, David Adams, and Roy Brown, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Wofford, Joshua White, Edward Lee, and James Lee.
Mr. Stoker will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Sunday.
